Project Workflow
Choosing the right décor, colors, and wall treatments can be a daunting and fearful process for the homeowner or business owner. At Johanna's Design Studio we take the fear out of the equation, by following a proven recipe for success.
This Step by Step process is designed to focus on your requirements. Together, we will determine the best and correct solutions for your ideal environment — taking the quess-work out of creating the perfect solution for your home or business. And best of all — we'll remain within your budget guidelines.
We have a proven record of meeting our commitments, including project costs, project schedules, and the overall quality of your project. Johanna's Design Studio will provide you with responsive leadership and management throughout the project duration, from initial estimate through project completion. Our relationship with architects, interior designers, and builders allows us to meet the needs of our clients.
Our Recipe for Success
STEP 1. Browse through our web site. Then contact Johanna to discuss your overall vision and goals for your home or business. Together, we'll explore your generalized budget and plan, to determine if you can benefit from our services.
STEP 2. Next, we'll set up an in-home or business consultation with Johanna and Tim.
- Our consultations will typically include:
- Viewing and assessment of your living space, taking into consideration your existing décor, flow of the rooms, quality and type of existing walls.
- An informal interview and written quiz, designed to determine your style, color preferences and needs.
- Review and assessment of your budget.
- Welcome package, which includes a list of references, and a copy of Licensure and Insurance
- Viewing examples and sample boards from our portfolio.
- Viewing and assessment of your living space, taking into consideration your existing décor, flow of the rooms, quality and type of existing walls.
STEP 3. We mail or email a written Estimate/Bid and Payment Terms to you, within a few days. Upon receiving your downpayment as specified in the Bid, we will schedule your start day on our schedule. We generally schedule projects two months out. We'll also schedule an appointment for you to tour our exclusive private mountain chalet, where you can look at some of our recent work “up close and personal.”
This visit provides you with an opportunity to see, touch, and feel walls which have been adorned with romantic imagery and tromp l’oeil, gold guilded walls and moldings, stunning ceiling treatments in shimmering and reflective Marmorino Lime Ventian Plasters, delicate hand-painted scroll work and exotic animal motifs, and sculptured wall ornamentation — to inspire you with the many possibilities available for your home.
STEP 4. A second in-home meeting helps us to fine-tune and agree upon your scope of wall and decorative finishes. We will provide you with specific and unique sample boards, sketches and drawings, and color-coordinating descriptions to show how your finishes will flow through you home. We don't want surprises! You can remain confident that your living environment will soon become the home of your dreams! We will make any agreed upon changes or add-ons to your Project Contract, which provides you with legal assurances and documents, Project Start and Finish Dates, and a detailed written description of the scope of work to be performed, including the products and materials to be used. All assurances and guarantees are in writing!
STEP 5. We arrive on time, and efficiently and professionally render the work. We adhere to all state and local safety rules. We work one-on one with you, through-out the project. Your questions are very important to us! We want you to be at ease with our presence. At Johanna's Design Studio, our goal is to exceed your expectations.
